My setup includes a R9 390X GPU, an I5 6600k CPU running at 4.3 Ghz, 4x4GB of Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM at 2400Mhz DDR4, a Z170 gaming K3 motherboard. I'm considering overclocking the RAM but have no prior experience or advice.

While it's possible to increase the RAM speed, you won't see a significant boost. Simply adjust the BIOS settings to allow XMP, which will set the RAM speed, but be aware of potential memory issues like BSODs and crashes.
