I intend to upgrade my CPU (Intel Pentium G4560) and wanted to know the optimal choice for achieving the best performance without exposing it to extreme temperatures. I considered a 240mm cooler but if the performance gap to a 120mm model is minimal, I’d prefer something smaller. My budget is around $/£100 or roughly 150. Please let me know.

I'm also not grasping the reasoning behind this. The G4560 isn't an overclockable CPU, so you'd need a particular BIOS (not the latest one) on some Z series boards to enable BLCK overclocking for non-K CPUs. Even then, the performance gains would be minimal.

For CPU coolers, if you don't have a compact case and aren't aiming for peak performance or heat management (which is mostly for demonstration), any good 120mm air cooler should suffice. The usual choices are the EVO 212 or Cryorig H7 on the lower end, and the Noctua NH-D15 on the higher end.

If you choose to stick with the G4560, opt for an EVO or H7 cooler—anything else would be a poor investment.

I didn't simply opt for a higher-end CPU right away. Using the Intel cooler could have provided better cooling without needing a more powerful processor. Performance gains from overclocking the G5460 would only be noticeable if there was a particular requirement for it.

Yeah, I'm still confused about this too. The G4560 isn't an overclockable CPU, so you'd need a particular BIOS (not the latest one) on some Z series boards to enable BLCK overclocking for non-K CPUs. Even then, the performance gains would be minimal.

For cooling, if you don't have a compact case and aren't aiming for peak performance or heat management, any good 120mm CPU cooler should work fine. The usual choices are the EVO 212 or Cryorig H7 on the lower end, and the Noctua NH-D15 on the higher end.

If you're sticking with the G4560, go with an EVO or H7 model—anything else would be a waste of money.
