I selected three processors that fit within a budget around 400, like the i9 10850k at $437, the Ryzen 7 5800x for $616, and the Ryzen 9 3900x at $544. This price might be a bit high for me. Pcie 3 could cause bottlenecks, but tech improvements should keep performance strong without major issues. Future games and tasks like streaming, editing, and gaming at 1080p should work well, so I might keep this as a secondary system. Performance shouldn’t drop significantly in the coming years.

Unlikely, once PCIe 3 hits its ceiling, CPUs and GPUs will become the bigger bottleneck. I think this could happen, offering the best value for money—cheaper than before, similar or improved performance in games, and significantly quicker for video editing and streaming.

Unlikely, once PCIe 3 hits its ceiling, CPUs and GPUs will become the bigger bottleneck. I think this could happen, offering the best value for money—cheaper than before, similar or improved performance in games, and significantly quicker for video editing and streaming.

Amazon lists 3900x for $484, but 3700x seems more appealing at $329. Allocate your $200 toward a stronger graphics card. Here’s the link for 3700x: https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Ryzen-3700X-1...07SXMZLPK/ Consider keeping the refresh rate between 144-160Hz and opting for a good IPS monitor instead of settling for the lower color accuracy of TN panels just to hit 240 Hz. Beyond 144Hz, the gains become less obvious.

10850k probably is the better bet here. Let me give the cpu+mobo price : I9 10850k + Z490 Aorus Pro Ax = $745 Ryzen 9 3900x + X570 Aorus Pro WiFi = $829 I getting 10-12 cores is for future game and better experience, BTW getting 3060 ti for 1080p 240hz, not getting 3080 for 1080p 240hz is ridiculous.

Choosing AMD platform means you don’t have to invest in the costly x570 motherboard. With a B550 you can achieve similar performance by enabling overclocking. The cost will match that of Intel, and you’ll have the flexibility to utilize 16 cores later if required.

Consider purchasing an 8-core processor now, and once supply stabilizes in the next 6-9 months, opt for a 12-16 core model. Used CPUs retain good value, and you'll likely find buyers for your processor when upgrading. Based on cpubenchmark results, 10850k scores 23480 points—while 3900x achieves 3900x scores 32850 points and 3700x scores 22800 points. (A bit off-topic, but 5600x hits 22180, suggesting 6-core chips can still match 8-core 3700x thanks to improved IPC and internal design.) So, higher performance comes with a slightly higher price, which is reasonable. If you choose the 3700x, aiming for $350 CPU plus a $200-250 motherboard would put you in the $500-600 range. Also, check if the 10850k model includes a cooler—its stock cooler is decent and limits overclocking, though you can still work within budget. Keep in mind, a 240Hz display is fine; higher refresh rates aren't essential.
