Hello! I've been looking for a CPU for some time, and I'm still figuring things out. I was considering the Ryzen 5500 because of its great value for money. But it only supports PCIe 3.0, which isn't enough for my needs—especially since I require PCIe 4.0 or better. I thought about the Ryzen 3600, but I'd love a fresh perspective! My budget is around $140 or less, and I want the best performance possible while still using a PCIe 4.0 chipset. For gaming, I checked passmark scores and would prefer a solid option, possibly even some recommendations beyond the usual picks. Thanks!

PCIe 4 is required for optimal performance. Gen 3 SSDs match the speed of gen 4 in practical use, and they won’t benefit much from a gen 3 slot. Also, opting for a 5600 isn’t necessary since it’s available new for under $135. The link provided offers the option.

Bruh... Why are you bad-mouthing the 5800x? It's a great processer! The multicore power is unreal! Great for the value

It adds $40 to their budget, though it’s still a decent chip. However, an 8-core 5700X model would better fit the price range.

Yes, my friend has a 5700x model. The 5800x offers slightly better quality, while the 5800x also provides a marginally higher clock speed without a significant gap.
