I just purchased a used ASUS Maximus X38, paired with an Intel C2Q Q9550, a large cooler Master Gemini (exact model not clear), and a 500W power supply from my old PC (brand unknown). I have four 1GB DDR2 Kingston HyperX RAM modules and an Radeon R7 240 GPU. The setup uses a 4-pin connector to the CPU power supply, which I overclocked to 3.2GHz without issues. I’m curious if I can push it to 3.4GHz safely, without damaging any components. Also, what graphics card options fit within a 130-euro budget? Thanks in advance.

I've noticed some folks using FX-8350s with a 4-pin cable, but I wouldn't suggest it. The 4-pin connector is rated for 95W, though it might handle 150-160W under the right conditions and with quality cables and power supplies. Still, the extra 200Mhz isn't really worth it.

Well, I've noticed some folks using FX-8350s with a 4-pin cable, but I wouldn't suggest it, since the connector is rated for 95W, though it might handle 150-160 if done right and the PSU uses quality cables and connectors. It really depends, but you probably won't gain much from adding another 200Mhz. I overclocked it to 3.4, which seems stable except the PSU is a bit warmer when touched. I think I'll revert to 3.2 since it doesn’t really matter much, so I don’t want to risk damaging the cables or components.
