Hey everyone, I've been working with computers for a while now and really enjoy building them. I recently received a new rig from a friend after losing my old one, probably because of some issues.

My setup includes an AMD FX 8120 with eight cores (Zambezi), clocked at around 3.2ghz, paired with an AMD Radeon 7770 HD Ghz edition graphics card. All the video drivers are current, and I've experienced stable gaming temperatures for a long time. However, over the past weeks, I've tried some basic tweaks to try and improve performance, but results have been minimal. Recently, my PC starts overheating even during light tasks like playing CSGO—something I hadn't encountered before.

I have around six fans, and it never gets above 20°C during moderate use, such as photo editing or video editing. I'm not sure what the issue is, but it seems quite specific. I appreciate any advice or suggestions you can offer before I start troubleshooting further. Thanks a lot, everyone!

Consider using a more effective CPU cooler, as even the latest thermal paste might provide some improvement

What case is being used and what is the fan setup? Specifically, are there two fans blowing in from the front, one blowing from the side, and one exhausting out from the back? Or is it one fan blowing out from the back and two blowing in from the top? What type of CPU cooler is installed, and how long has it been in place? Are the fans clean, particularly around the spindles?

What model and fan setup are you using? I'm checking the configuration, including the direction of airflow and any specific cooling solutions. Also, how long has it been installed? Please confirm if the fans are clean, especially around the spindles.

The supporters at the back and/or top should force air out.

CountMike shared his observation that the fans at back and/or top require more airflow. He noted their temperatures are still low (around 15°C), but performance improves when gaming, with multiple fans actively cooling and expelling warm air.
