I put together my PC in 2018 and played Witcher 3 for the first time then. At that time the game ran smoothly without any problems. Recently I attempted to play it again but encountered many issues such as long loading times, the game launching slowly, slow background rendering, music that sometimes stopped and took a long time to load, etc. The game was still on version 1.31 and the PC had been idle for a while. I cleaned everything but it didn’t fix anything. Could you help identify the problem? If it’s a hardware issue, where might it be?

A common issue is that the PC hasn't been updated, causing it to be out of sync with the servers. Another challenge is that as the game has developed, your hardware may no longer meet its needs. Many games now list minimum system requirements online, so if your setup falls short, performance can suffer or the game may not run at all. You can use sites like "canirunit.com" to check compatibility before playing. Good luck!

It seems unlikely since you can run the game without an internet connection, so that shouldn’t be an issue. However, we’re still uncertain... it could be a problem with the game files or your Windows setup. OP, please run the Firestrike benchmark (available on Steam) to verify your PC’s status and share the results here.

Keep in mind that Witcher 3 has been remastered recently, making the original version unavailable. Reinstalling will likely give you the updated version, which can significantly impact performance unless you have an older offline copy.
