I've revisited all the instructions and now have access to the desktop. The quotation marks highlight that nothing is displaying—it's just a blank screen. It seems the shared drives aren't being recognized, which might be due to my desktop not being set up for sharing. I'm returning to your initial step and right-clicking the access menu, but the laptop isn't showing up. You mentioned you can manually select options in the drop-down, but only see User, stc, Everyone, and create a new user. What should I do next? Do I need to enter the laptop's IP address again? Thank you for your help and patience.
The laptop won't show up as a username; I've been working on this for days, trying to clarify it in different ways. For the desktop, pick an existing username or create one, then share its access details. For the laptop, link to the IP address and provide the username and password mentioned earlier.
Thank you for your feedback. I had thought I'd have direct access to the 'Owner' of the file without needing to share it, but that wasn't the case. Appreciate you explaining this clearly.
