I'd consider upgrading if the present CPU falls short. Otherwise, it makes sense to stay with what you have.
Several easy jobs can be finished in just a few minutes. I also believe my CPU will wear out soon. A single 80mm fan seems insufficient, probably.
I think I'll upgrade because simple jobs can be done in about 10 minutes! Thanks for the help!
CPU performance stays steady. What simple jobs are affected? Possibly a heavy Windows setup or driver issues—maybe a full reinstall is better than buying a replacement just in case. If your 80mm fan isn’t cooling properly, the new platform might still run hot until the problem is fixed.
Tasks vary in their CPU usage, which can affect how much speed you gain. The 12600KF offers only a modest 20% improvement for lightly threaded jobs, but about 70% for heavily multithreaded ones. The 9700F remains a solid choice for many applications. However, if you aim to save considerable time through upgrades, the 12600KF may not deliver the best performance. For QuickSync benefits, opt for the 12600K instead. For demanding multicore workloads, consider the 12900K or a Ryzen 9 5950X as more future-proof investments.
