Hi, I've been attempting to overclock for a few days with the voltage set at 1.4200v and a multiplier of 48. When I start Windows and check my clock speed, it still shows the default 3.8ghz. I have an i5 7600k, an MSI Z270 Plus motherboard, a 600w PSU, and a Corsair H100i v2 cooler. Could you help me out? Thanks.

Use the hardware info app (hWinfo64) and ensure it runs with high performance settings in Windows Power Options. In BIOS, verify it is set to a FIXED overclock across all four cores, not just turbo frequency. Please send a screenshot of your BIOS UEFI.

hey i just shared that info, did you implement the updated clock speeds and voltage settings? when you return to bios, does it display the original speeds after the reboot? and which software are you using on windows to track those speeds?

cooldex :
hey im just throw this out there, did you apply the new clockspeeds & voltage, also when you go back to bios is it reading stock speeds after the reboot, and what software you using in windows to monitor the speeds.

I set the voltage and adjusted the multiplier and clock speed. However, upon rebooting and re-entering BIOS, it displays a clock speed that matches Windows 10, while using standard speeds otherwise. Realtemp, Task Manager, CPU-Z

try hardware info app (hWinfo64) and verify its high performance setting in windows power options. also ensure the bios is set to a fixed overclock across all four cores, not just turbo frequency. please send a screenshot of your bios uefi. I haven't overclocked my desktop recently, but I'm trying the new z270 platform.

Sure, I'll attempt that now—it's running in high-performance mode with a fixed overclock across all cores, not using turbo.
Later today, after finishing work, I'll try it again.
