Hello, you can check the ISO on the Windows PC where you downloaded it without needing to install it first on your new Linux Mint PC. Just run the verification tool provided with the ISO to confirm its integrity. If you encounter errors during download, ensure the file is correctly copied and the verification process is followed properly.

For non-Linux users, here’s a clearer version:
Where can I locate the checksum? What exactly is a checksum? Up to this point, my only action has been downloading the ISO file.

Download the ISO file for 7zip, extract it to a folder, and verify the checksum and SHA256 values against the official source.

Don't open it. Click right-click and select 7-Zip. Then choose the checksum option using SHA-256.

Sure, I can help with that. Let me know what you'd like to do with SHA-256!
