I mistakenly took away the admin privileges from my laptop account, which stopped me from performing any tasks. Every time I launch an app as admin, it asks for my fingerprint, but after the Windows update, my fingerprint scanner isn't working. I've tried updating it through Device Manager, but it keeps needing my fingerprint again. Someone can assist me with this issue?

If the fingerprint scan fails, the system should revert to using the pin or password.

It should work, but the pin or password bar isn't showing up on the screen and you're still seeing a fingerprint requirement.

Yes, there is usually an option in the bottom left corner for additional settings.

Have you considered deleting the fingerprint or resetting it in the settings?

I missed another problem too, I wasn't able to delete or modify my fingerprint either.

Log out and then log in to your M$ account. Or verify if you’re using more than one M$ account.
