I purchased my initial title on Steam but must wait three days before it becomes available. I need to play it online with multiplayer, not just download and wait. I’m not concerned about piracy.

It could be a new verification step that Valve has added. Look for a verification email in your Steam inbox. If none appears, you may need to wait or reach out to Steam support via the provided link.

Yes, you can purchase the game for another person, though you may need to pay twice depending on the platform's rules.

These companies often limit what users can do. During my hospital stay, I had to check my account access after discharge, waiting three days before I could use Steam Online. I might try to find the game files and see if I can run it from the executable, but it has worked for some games before, like Hacknet and Garry's Mod.

You can connect Steam game files that were previously downloaded by someone else to your account.

I purchased the same game previously, so locating the key from the CD should be okay.

Back then, perhaps, very old CD keys might not rely on Steam and could need the CD to work. The simplest cases are games like Star Wars: Empire of War and the original Call Of Duty on PC. It's fine to give it a try.

Pay $10 on Steam to unlock most of the tools. This helps stop bots, scammers and similar issues. You don’t have to purchase games right away—just add funds to your account. If you’re using an older account where you’ve already spent more than $10, it likely wasn’t active long enough for those security measures to become active.

I sent $20 to the valve account, but I have to wait two days before reactivating my account since I created it in 2014 and haven't used it. That's fine.
