HELP *GPU*
I've been using my GTX 970 for more than nine years now. Despite having the newest drivers and reinstalling Windows 10, it still lags significantly. When playing Minecraft with Lunar Client, I barely hit 50 frames per second, and even at medium settings in ARK it drops to around 20 FPS. The GPU usage is only about 6% and CPU around 20%, which doesn’t seem to help. I’ve tried pushing all the settings via the Nvidia Control Panel, but nothing changes. I’m unsure if the issue lies with the hardware or if there’s something else I should check.
I haven’t adjusted it yet before attempting the fix. The metal part on the GPU isn’t coming off, even after trying to unscrew it. The temperature is 50°C during gaming, and the CPU is at a similar level.
The command gpu=-z in a gaming context typically instructs the system to disable the GPU, which can lower performance and impact temperatures.
You're uncertain, so I'll attempt to swap the thermal paste and see if it makes a difference. Good luck!
Your graphics card is running at just 6% performance with temperatures around 38°C, yet it's only achieving a minimal 30 frames per second.
