Help for overclocking G3258
Hi there... I tried to overclock my G3258 using the Intel Extreme tuning utility, but my motherboard doesn’t support it. I figured I could still do it by following the steps in the software. Could you explain to me the process? What performance numbers should I aim for and how much should I increase them? I’m not very familiar with this stuff yet. My motherboard model is Gigabyte H81MS1. Please help!

hi guyz...i tried to overclock my G3258 but my motherboard doesn't allow it. I decided to use Intel Extreme tuning utility, but i'm confused about how to do it properly. Could someone explain the steps and what stats to adjust? I'm not very experienced with this software. My motherboard is a gigabyte h81ms1.
Hey there! If your motherboard doesn't support overclocking, it's best not to try to clock it via software. Doing so might damage your Voltage Regulator Module. If the board says no overclocking, they probably didn't build the VRM to handle extra voltage you'd need to supply to the CPU...

If your board doesn't support overclocking, i wouldn't suggest trying to clock it via software. If you go ahead, be careful—you might damage the Voltage Regulator Module. If the board says no overclocking, it means the VRM wasn't built for extra voltage needed during overclocking.
