I was surprised by how difficult it is to purchase a laptop, so I thought I’d post here asking if anyone could assist me. With a limited budget, I’m aiming to get the best value for my money. I recently bought a laptop that’s quite slow and often freezes. I believe it wasn’t designed for tasks I enjoy, like Photoshop. It doesn’t have to look extremely stylish. If refurbished it would be worth more than what I currently have, so I’m open to that too. I’ve answered the questions below.

Thank you for your support.

1. What is your budget?
£200-£300
2. What notebook size are you looking at?
Regular size
3. What resolution do you prefer?
Not crucial
4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement?
Yes, I’m replacing a slow one
5. How much battery life do you require?
Mostly for home use, so it can stay plugged in
6. Would you like to play games on your laptop? If yes, please list the games and their preferred settings (Low, Medium, High)?
Football Manager
Fire Pro Wrestling
7. What other functions do you want from your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, etc.)
Photoshop
Office
Plex
8. How much storage do you need?
Anything I can afford. SSD is best
9. If you have specific sites in mind to buy from, please share their links.
No preference
10. How long do you plan to keep the laptop?
As long as possible
11. What type of optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer, Bluray ROM/Writer, etc.?
Not necessary
12. Could you mention any brands you prefer and dislike, along with your reasons?
No preference
13. Where are you based?
England, UK
14. Any other details you’d like to add?

Running Photoshop within a £200-£300 budget would be challenging.
