I'm trying to activate Mom's HP p6000 using the internet, which I already did to connect to Wi-Fi. Then I visited another website, but the error kept saying unreachable. How can I fix this? I have Windows 7 Home Premium, and I'm not sure if "unreachable" is a virus or spyware.

When the device has Ethernet connections, I recommend using it. Then verify that your network card drivers are current, as a comparable problem on my previous setup was the cause.

I'm not completely confident about the issue, but there really isn't a solid reason to keep running Windows 7 right now. Microsoft stopped providing support years ago, and no more security updates are coming. Even Windows 10 or 11 would be better options. Usually I'd suggest using a Linux distribution like Mint for this situation, though for someone older—like a parent managing a PC—it might be hard to get them to use it effectively.

No RJ45 ports detected on the device. Seems like this setup.

Got it, now locate an Ethernet cable, connect one end to the modem and the other to the corresponding port on your laptop.
