I made the incorrect fasteners during assembly, causing a crack in the case. Will this damage my system? It seems to be running less efficiently.

It went through the entire case, so there’s nothing to worry about.

Typically, creating a hole in a component usually breaks its functionality. If it operates normally, chances are everything is fine; if it slows down, it might just be your concern making you notice the performance issue.

Phew, it seems the issue is just inside the case on the computer.

This situation is merely a container, you know. It comes with several openings for airflow and other purposes. Stay calm and analyze things rationally, but exercise greater caution moving forward.
