Hello, I see you're experiencing performance issues with your AMD 9590 setup. It sounds like your system is struggling with demanding games like Arma 3 or Battlefield while others run smoothly. Checking RAM usage, updating drivers, and ensuring your GPU drivers are current might help. Also, consider closing background apps and adjusting game settings for better performance.

No, Arma 3 is not multithreaded. Battlegrounds and other components are designed to run sequentially.

Your processor is the limiting factor, consider testing it at 1440p resolution.

ARMA 3 depends heavily on single-threaded speed according to reports. It seems PUBG behaves similarly, given its reliance on the DayZ engine. The FX-9590 performs poorly in those situations, unless considered for general CPU use. Running ARMA 3 smoothly is very challenging for any processor.

ARMA 3 shares similarities with Minecraft, being heavily optimized for lower cores with higher IPC and frequency. If designed for multi-threaded processors, the 7700k and Ryzen chips would run it smoothly. The 9590 would also handle it well. Multi-core gaming is the direction of the future.

Arma 3 consumes a lot of CPU power. The FX9590 isn't fond of such heavy usage. I'm curious about why two $500 GPUs are still working with that old chip.
