You're starting from scratch with Star Citizen and a budget of $1500–$2000. Focus on essentials: a decent CPU, good RAM, and a reliable GPU. Consider mid-range options like an Intel i5 or AMD Ryzen 5, 16GB RAM, and a GTX 1650 or similar. Keep it simple but powerful enough for the game.

Yes, you'll require the operating system, a monitor, and possibly additional peripherals.

Only the basics. I already have the peripherals and a monitor I use with my Lenovo Y50.

It would be better to submit this on the New Builds and Planning forum, allowing them to select the optimal build. For clarity, share your budget and intended purpose—whether it's for gaming only or resource-intensive projects. While Star Citizen is a valid reason, feel free to post elsewhere if needed.:0)

When working on a Star Citizen build, it's usually smarter to hold off until the following year. But if you're aiming for a gaming setup and Star Citizen is part of your selection, now could be the better time.
