Hi, I removed Internet Explorer from my Windows 8.1 Pro PC assuming I no longer needed it. Unbeknownst to me, my school switched their remote login system and now I must use Internet Explorer. The Microsoft site confirms I already have it, but I’m really stuck and need help. B.T.W.: No other browsers will work with this remote login setup.

You still have IE installed, you can't remove it, but you can turn it off. It should appear in programs and functions (I think).

The guide is centered on Internet Explorer within Microsoft Edge. You cannot remove Internet Explorer entirely; only disable it. Deleting it would prevent proper Windows startup. The link provided appears to be the official download for Windows 7, possibly compatible with Windows 8.1. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/inter...ownload-ie

I have completely removed all program files and any Internet Explorer content from my hard drive. Nothing remains. My computer no longer has Internet Explorer installed.

Sure, I understand. If you agree, I can help further. Did the link you provided work?

Yes, you can access a remote desktop without using Internet Explorer. You can connect directly through the remote desktop application or via command-line tools like SSH or RDP.
