Hey everyone, just started this project and need some advice. I'm a 3D animator returning to my childhood home for care duties. I'm moving back with a workstation and server running Debian Buster without VMs. How should I properly secure my new network? The setup includes DHCP at the router, Ethernet connections to three low-level PCs (someone with memory issues can access them), and two APs plus a new large workstation and server.

Set up a reliable web filter to prevent spam. Connect via a VPN for all connections. Enforce password protection for admin adjustments. Implement a password for network file sharing among devices.

Thanks a lot, everything was present. No spam, wouldn't bother without a focused packet. Managing several windows machines with varying levels of access?

Port forward only what you need. Set up firewalls. Avoid downloading unnecessary files like extra RAM. Advanced topics like VLANs/subnets are unclear.

Thank you all very much. There were a few things I overlooked until you mentioned them.
