Hello everyone, I'm setting up custom water cooling for my Ryzen 2700X. My dad has installed several CPUs with thermal paste, and I've had two made by him. He suggested leaving the paste in place since it has very low conductivity. I've now replaced it and installed a waterblock. Do you think this will work? I haven't started booting yet because I need more connections. Thanks for your advice!
Hello and welcome. It seems your dad has some background on this. What type of paste was it? Most are not conductive, though a few might be.
It's probably correct then. I question whether AMD employs liquid metal or silver fill powder in their freebie paste.
