I updated the BIOS on my MSI B85-G41 PcMate motherboard, but it shut down after the update and never rebooted. Now USB Ethernet and front case USB aren’t working at all, even though they seem to be present. It feels like they’re missing or inactive. This issue started on September 13, 2023, by Alexander_9688.

Ensure your bio reflects the most recent updates, are you using the current version?

Disconnect all external devices from your computer. Wait a moment, then gently remove the button battery from the motherboard (handle it carefully to avoid damaging components). Wait two minutes. Reinsert the battery correctly. Connect power and the screen. Turn on the computer.

This will simply restart the system. If his processor is older than the latest one it supports, you might face even more issues than this fix resolves.

I've cleared the CMOS and the only remaining step is disconnecting all drives. Would that make a difference?
