Hey there! I have a PC with these details: Intel desktop board, DH61HO CPU, Pentium G630, DDR3 RAM at 1066 MHz, 4GB storage from Kingston 240GB A400 SSD, 450W PSU from Zebronics. According to Intel’s specs for the DH61HO, it supports 2nd and 3rd generation CPUs, so I’m considering either the i3 3240 or the i5 3470s. I’m not sure if a BIOS update will be needed for these models, but I want to confirm. I’m also planning to add a GPU and have an available PCIe X16 slot—I’m thinking about the GT 1030. The Intel docs list the supported CPUs here, and the links you shared are helpful. Let me know if you need more guidance!

Update the bio accordingly. For the GT 1030, focus solely on the GDDR5 variant—avoid considering the DDR4 option.

Since it's a really old Mobo, I'm not sure if the right BIOS update files are available

The second generation CPU that fits the supported list is the Intel Core i5-10400.

Someone with more experience in older Intel flashing should assist you then. The most affordable option you can locate at a local used market. Not every single one will be available.

Thanks! I'll reach out to that user and check the upgrade status. It's possible the file is available if a BIOS update was required.
