both will operate at 2133, using flex mode which means the 4 gigabit will run in single channel while the 8 gigabit stick will use dual channel. Matching RAM configurations isn't assured, though it might work sometimes and other times not.

When mixing a single stick with another, it creates a different scenario. It's usually better to choose two 8-gauge sticks and opt for a more affordable option, which will give you a 3000MHz unit.
