HEEELP THE 5 5600X IS WORKING AT OVER 70 DEGREES C IN THE AIR
I recently purchased an AMD Ryzen 5600X with the original cooler, but it’s extremely hot right out of the box. I’ve verified twice that the cooler was installed correctly and double-checked the thermal paste—nothing seems amiss. Could there be something else affecting its temperature?
Thanks, I'll check if I can install your old NZXT Kraken X61 now. I'll add a ventilator to assist a little.
As mentioned by @Dar7869, explore the bios settings and experiment with fan curves, or simply apply a full setting. Ensure it tracks CPU temperature rather than motherboard temperature, which is the default behavior.
If it doesn't work, adjusting the multiplier to 43-44 in the BIOS can maintain stable temperatures, though you'll miss out on PBO boosts for faster CPU performance. That's generally a reasonable compromise.
