Are you using Wi-Fi or Bluetooth on your computer? It might seem strange, but turning them off and checking the results could help. This seems to be a problem with certain motherboards, while others work just fine—just like what you observed.

ALC8878 is the device you're experiencing problems with, it may appear inconsistent if connected from the front plug. If you connect it directly to the back unit through the motherboard, try to avoid issues related to the motherboard header. Ensure the USB 3.0 port or any other connection on the motherboard is securely placed. (internal connection)

I also attempted this test. I took out all wifi and bluetooth devices and still couldn't resolve the issue.

The front header and case ports served as a minor test, but the issue persists on all rear motherboard ports. Almost every USB device is connected from the back, which is why I rarely use the front ports.

Turn off the PC power supply and disconnect the cable from the wall power button for three minutes. You might notice parts spinning briefly, which is normal since it removes all energy from the PC. Check the audio caps with rubber gloves on the bottom left board. Make sure none are loose. On an ASRock board, I had an audio cap that was slightly loose, so I pushed it back into place temporarily until I soldered it securely again.

Disassembled the computer and inspected all physical connections. I wasn’t able to locate any CAP jumpers on the motherboard. It’s possible there was a CAP on the SPDIF, otherwise there were no other caps. I have photos of the motherboard and a video of the headset in action if you’d like me to share them. Nevertheless, after reassembling the computer, the results remained unchanged.

they are probably faulty capacitors on the motherboard's audio section. typically there are four golden capacitors at the bottom left, not jumpers, and they supply power to that area; damage to them may lead to problems.

I haven't encountered problems with any other audio device besides this G733. I've used a PCI-E USB card before, but the results were the same. It seems like it might be a faulty motherboard.

Looking closely at the controller on the board, I think it might be the real one connected via USB. Try switching to a regular audio jack to check if the problem persists.
