I've owned these DT 770 pros for five years. Recently, while adjusting them, the left cup moved away from your ear and made a light hit—nothing unusual. It’s been worse before; this feels more like a minor issue. After checking, the left ear seems quieter now. Running a driver matching test that covers up to 10k Hz revealed the lower frequencies are mostly missing in the left cup, and playing music caused an annoying buzz. I tried connecting them to my phone and adjusting the cable, but nothing worked. It might be time to consider replacing them or seeking further repair options.

Preface, this is very speculative as i have no way of knowing for sure, but... While headphones can take quite a beating what you mightve done is a different kind of beating, popping them over the ear and sealing them with a thud, i wouldnt recommend, while headphones are rugged and pretty durable, the electrics and speakers in them can be finicky, you possibly created a pressure buildup with that, which, I'm thinking, can damage things that are sensitive. Think of it like this, a not too light cupped pop on the chest with your hands wont hurt much, cup your hands and give your ears a slap and youll feel it a LOT more, similarly with headphones (also this is all just me trying to guess what happened, im not actually sure, id personally have to take them apart and look at them to see if my hypothesis is right but thats my thoughts on it, i could be wrong.)
