The main concern should be the size of the file or game. With a connection around 3 mbps, most downloads are manageable. While Arma 3 took two days to download, it was a worthwhile investment unless you're extremely sensitive to speed or worried about losing progress. If the game causes stress or risk of failure, sticking to Steam, G2A, or GOG might be better.
