Alex Atkin in the UK provided a clear summary. It seems easier to locate a free Minecraft server hosting platform. They usually accommodate only 5 or 10 participants, which might not be enough for you and your friend.

Check the router, it should be referenced somewhere.

Refers to Minecraft servers that are rarely used, often receiving low ratings or scores, and are typically free but only available on an hourly basis rather than monthly. You mentioned searching through your router settings and didn’t locate anything similar.

Have you explored adjusting your Minecraft server port to a custom section on https://www.grc.com/shieldsup?

Hold on a moment, isn't this discussion about your friend's inability to join your server? It seems like you're aiming to play Minecraft with your friend on your own server. What's the issue with a free server that can only accommodate up to 10 players if just you and your friend are planning to use it? You're aware that running a Minecraft server at home requires a static IP address, which typically costs around $100 a month.

He wants to enjoy Minecraft alone but the platform isn’t letting him link up, while others can join during his previous sessions. The site seems to push a reading experience before use, which he doesn’t want.

You need to understand the process before starting. Without that knowledge, you risk making mistakes. If you didn’t follow the guide or read the instructions, the result would likely fail. Things change over time—software updates, network adjustments, or even small changes in your setup can affect performance. Relying on outdated information or guesswork usually leads to problems.

They don’t require a fixed IP address as long as they can determine their current IP before each gaming session and inform their friend, or they might use a dynamic DNS service. This raises the question of whether they’re instructing their friend to connect to their public WAN address or their local LAN address.

Yes, it means the host needs ongoing access to their PC to verify their IP address. This can be inconvenient if friends want to join late at night or if the person isn't home. A dynamic DNS service works well as a good alternative.

It seems you were directed to a specific site that provided a Stealth Unknown Protocol setup. This configuration could indicate an open, closed, or stealth status, depending on your judgment. I rely on instinct—most attempts fail, which is why this time it didn’t work. The experience was public, LAN, hamachi, and Zeropoint each time I adjusted the settings. Since we’re online and ready to play together, I’ll start the server and we can test how it performs.
