My friend played Dead By Daylight a lot and posts about it on Twitter. She tries to play as fair and cleanly as possible and she's actually really good at the game. This morning while playing killer, she closed hatch and pissed off a survivor who I guess felt like being toxic and kept saying " Enjoy the ban" in postgame chat. The player then texted her personal phone number calling her by name telling her to enjoy the ban. She says she hasn't posted her phone number anywhere public, but also said she removed them from steam and discord in case it was from there. Further information, she says that this user has less than 20 hours of gameplay and a ban for previously cheating against anticheat software. That's all I know from this situation. Anyone know how this is possible?

consider any Discord activity as open data. Those who enjoy negativity often spend extra time tracking recent personal updates. beyond that, basic details such as first names can usually be identified with minimal effort.

Yes, it's perfectly fine to inquire about expectations.

Completely disregard him—the less you focus on him, the more he fades away. He thrives on causing unease in others, so once they tire of it, he’ll shift to something else quickly. Also, you have the option to hide his contact info.

It seems like you're asking about a situation where someone unfamiliar doesn't recognize a name. Could you clarify the context? I'm here to help interpret or explain further.

She’s the only six she’s familiar with who can power up a machine. None of us would act that way toward such a kind person. She remembers everyone’s names from the game and hangs around often. This isn’t anyone she recognized.

Is there a belief that her device has been breached, and her contact details connect to one of her profiles?

I believe the source is likely there. You can gather a lot of details about someone by using Google effectively. It’s probably safest to avoid sharing any personal details online—like your phone number or location—that could link back to your Steam account, since some people are quite persistent. A few years ago, I faced harassment on Steam after pointing out someone in a forum. I removed all related posts and blocked the user, but I was intrigued enough to check his Steam profile and use SteamDB along with online searches. After about five minutes, I found his Instagram account and other public info. It highlighted how easily information can be collected from a Steam account if you’re not cautious while searching online.
