I’ve observed some unusual performance issues recently. My system slows down significantly when running games or accessing files from the HDD, often reaching 100% under load—spikes to 20, 30, or 40 even when idle or with Chrome open. I’m wondering if it’s due to aging hardware or if a replacement is necessary. Additionally, using programs on the SSD causes noticeable lag and speed drops; pressing the Tab key while playing games feels less responsive than before. My initial thought has been either upgrading to a larger SSD or swapping out the HDD (something I’ve done with a laptop). Also, my memory usage stays around 48-50% even when Discord is running, which is higher than expected. With 8 gigabytes of RAM, that’s a bit concerning.
Which games are you playing? What are the laptop specifications? Are you running out of space on your SSD?
