At startup it produced some unusual grinding sounds, but after a few seconds they disappeared. I’ll look into the sound now.

I verified it when I first connected it. It had about 28k hours, and the Crystal Disk reported its health was okay—though that’s all I really needed to confirm. I bought it for roughly $20, which is why I should have been more careful.

This doesn’t look right. Inserting the HDD again stopped the screen from showing, but after replacing the old drive and restarting a few times, it worked again. IMG_8330.mov

The seller doesn’t offer any return options for items sold used. If you’re worried about data exposure, consider erasing the drive instead of returning it.
