HD 5750 core clock remains locked at 300mhz
I have an XFX Radeon HD 5750 that I've overclocked with specific settings:
ATI Radeon HD5750 1gb GDDR5: GPU set to 830 MHz, Memory at 1335 MHz.
Yet in CCC and other programs, the GPU Core is reported as 300 MHz instead of what I configured. Despite this, my benchmarks still show improved performance compared to the stock values. Could you have any suggestions as to why this discrepancy occurs? I'm currently at work, but I can share screen captures when I get home. 300mhz is the idle speed, not the maximum. Do you have two monitors? Usually the idle speed is lower than that. On my 5770 the idle speed is 157mhz, but when you connect a second monitor, even if it's not in use, it idles at 400mhz.
If you download gpu-z and run a graphics-heavy program like 3dmark06, you'd see the minimum and maximum clock speeds and it would reach the 830mhz you set it to.
