Having trouble with touchpad or mouse, need assistance?
I'm using an ASUS TUF A15 laptop with Windows 10 22H2. I rarely use the touchpad, always connected a USB keyboard and mouse. Recently I noticed my right-click button and gesture controls stopped working on the touchpad. I can still left-click and drag, but nothing else functions. Even with the USB mouse plugged in, I have to right-click first for it to work, otherwise the mouse just moves without doing anything. For the touchpad, I've tried updating drivers, checking Windows updates, adjusting settings, running regedit, enabling/disabling it manually, and even using a different mouse. Sometimes the mouse controls freeze unless I right-click the USB device. Windows indicates my touchpad is precision type. It seems something might have changed recently—maybe testing Xbox Play Cloud caused issues. I installed several drivers and software like HIDguardian and a USB joystick driver, but after uninstalling them, the problem persisted. I'm also trying the Dell MS116 USB mouse now.
