Having some trouble...
Hello, I play games frequently and have been using my PC for several years on an Asus ROG G750JS. Until recently, it performed well, maintaining around 30 to 60 frames per second. But now I’m facing various performance problems, limiting me to only Titan Quest and Supreme Commander Forged Alliance, which are also struggling with their expected speeds. I’ve been exploring different PCs but lack the technical expertise. I’m seeking advice on the best setup for my budget. The games I want to play now run between 10 to 20 FPS on my current system—Forza Horizon 4, Subnautica, Xplane 11, F1 2019, and Metro Exodus.
I’ve attached the PC details below. Thank you in advance for your help!
I think if you disassembled it and cleaned it well, it could work again. There’s no chance the SC Forged alliance (a game nearly 13 years old) would struggle on that kind of system.
Anyway, this looks like a reasonable price for a ready-made build.
To enhance Votivee, yes the prebuilt setup seems reasonable, but if you have the skill to handle a screwdriver, constructing your own PC could yield a more powerful system. The decision ultimately depends on your abilities.
You're enjoying some well-made (developed) games, except for Subnautica.
Subnautica stands out as an open-world title offering free building and terraforming features, similar to ARK and Empyrion. These games typically demand significant RAM, so I suggest upgrading beyond the 8GB included in the prebuild. Given your ability to use a screwdriver, this upgrade is definitely achievable.
I think it's better to create your own setup—it's much more enjoyable and you can probably make one significantly stronger while keeping the same cost. I also believe a 16GB RAM would be ideal, at least for any build I'd recommend. I use a large amount of Primo Cache to boost drive performance and achieve quicker loading times, so I usually opt for 32GB just for that reason.
