I’ve attempted to start from the boot key to install Windows 10, but it isn’t working. On the boot menu it appears the device is recognized, then disappears and reappears when you select it. I’ve reformatted the drive and downloaded the ISO from another computer, yet it still doesn’t install. Could you suggest possible next steps?

I’m preparing the USB connection by plugging it in and ensuring it’s properly connected.

I'm trying to understand your request better. If you're following the steps I suggest, you should use the Windows Media Creation Tool to set up Windows on your boot drive. Make sure only the intended drive is selected for booting. You'll need a USB flash drive—even a 32GB one works, though 8GB is sufficient. The tool will identify your drive and let you remove all partitions before it installs Windows. This process should complete successfully. Good luck!

I used a tutorial to convert the format to ExFAT and moved the files from the ISO onto the storage device

I attempted this and received a warning about needing special handling for bootable images, then I tried using Boot Camp which didn’t work because of my M1 Mac.

Thanks for your assistance. I managed to locate an older version with a small install.wim file that could be transferred easily without using Balena.
