I'm looking for a reliable Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 motherboard for my budget gaming setup. I need something that supports overclocking and can handle at least 8GB RAM. I've seen people mention success with 3.4 GHz processors, but I'm unsure about the socket type they use. If anyone has any advice or recommendations, it would be really helpful. No specific preferences on form factor or RAM type, just a need for stability and performance.

unless it's all arriving for less than £$100, then skip it. It's an old chip, performing well back then but terrible now.
Actually, even if it comes under £$100, I'd still advise against it—the money would go to waste.
