I bought a laptop but my browser and screen keep going black. The guys at Lenovo never fixed this. Is the problem with the computer or the operating system? Because I can't see the screen right now.

I just want to remind everyone that this post is also on their own forum thread.

Here is the info about my laptop. I have a CPU cooler, and I use an Intel Core i5 from the 11th generation. My RAM is 8GB, and I also have storage in both SSD and HDD forms. The graphics card is an Iris Xe chip, and the power supply unit is working fine too.

You should have a sticker at the very bottom that says what model this thing is called.

Have you tried turning off your computer and trying again? Did the screen just go black and stay that way? If yes, try booting into Safe Mode. Once inside Safe Mode, it might help to clear old graphics drivers so new ones work better for your laptop. You can find DDU here, or get your own graphics drivers from this link.

My store changed my computer's software, but the screen goes black or turns off when I use my browser. They said no new computers are coming and didn't want to take me back to try fixing it instead of giving me a brand new one. I don't know what is wrong and how to make this work again. I thought maybe just reformatting would fix it, but if that's the case... should I still use this old computer?

Have you ever tried connecting a monitor from another computer? Did you contact Lenovo for help?

I reached out to them via their website, but they keep saying it won't work and aren't helping me. I went into a store that claims to offer home repair services, but even after they reformatted my device, the problem is still there. I don't know where the main Lenovo service center in Metro Manila or near South area is located.
