I possess a vast collection of games on PC and consoles. Recently, I had no work and just wanted to relax. I chose to play games all day. In the past eight hours, I tried around six different titles, each for 15 to 30 minutes, with plenty of idle time in between. Browsing my extensive list makes me feel unmotivated to engage. These kinds of days are becoming more frequent. What’s happening? I used to lose myself easily in games like Skyrim, compete fiercely in League of Legends, or enjoy racing sims after watching Formula 1. I could spend hours on strategy games, horror titles with dim lighting, and still find time for them all day. Now it seems less possible. I occasionally manage long gaming sessions, but they’re becoming rarer. Am I growing older too quickly for gaming? I’m almost 30. Have I invested so much time in games that I’ve reached a limit? I still spend most of my free time in front of a screen, yet I feel increasingly bored. It’s starting to feel a bit overwhelming. No one else seems to share this feeling?

Occasionally yes. I focus on different things when needed. Losing love doesn’t matter. I’m just tired of it right now. My mind craves something else.

Today I managed to spend most of my time with an electric keyboard, diving into lessons instead of searching for something on my PC. Personally, I don’t see it as a milestone but rather as exhaustion from games that feel increasingly poor quality. Usually, a game hooks me with something new—often a release over ten years old. In the past two weeks, Stardew Valley has been my main focus more than anything else. I’ve tried to revisit CS:GO, but it feels like a long time since I played, and I stick to one game per day, feeling drained afterward. I don’t enjoy it as much anymore; I’m also weary of the constant effort in multiplayer, and most FPS games online seem repetitive, just different skins with no real enjoyment. The problems aren’t limited to gameplay—the server issues, bugs, and other frustrations keep appearing, making me frustrated because these are recurring issues I’ve faced for years without a fix. My last single-player game was Dragon Age: Origins (still pending DLCs), and I mostly stick to games I haven’t played before. I have a long list of unfinished titles, mostly old ones. The only new game I’m eager for is Baldur’s Gate 3, which I’m certain I’ll complete. I’m also immersed in replaying Divinity: Original Sin 2, but anything else on the market seems unlikely. I keep improving my PC and checking hardware prices daily, yet I keep playing games that are increasingly outdated. It’s strange how online gaming seemed to drain my passion, similar to what I felt after quitting World of Warcraft or finishing a compelling book—I just felt disconnected from the world. It seems like a phase, a transition. Once I find something engaging, I tend to stay until I’m worn out again, then it loops. Maybe that’s your experience too?

Just to clarify, you're aiming to play Moonlight Sonata's third movement in two months. It's mostly an automated experience with lots of action, planning, chatting, and some fun distractions. I'm not surprised it might have affected your gaming passion. Plus, after years of playing many games, I've become much more selective—or at least more challenging to impress. To be honest, when I first began gaming, every game seemed just as impressive as today's top-tier titles, regardless of graphics or mechanics.

Uncertain about Moonlight Sonata. I'm working on Leaving Earth from Mass Effect 3 and Luffys Fierce Attack from One Piece (I can manage half of each so far... gradually with both hands at least). I'll try Moonlight Sonata too, but I'm not sure if I'll master it in two months—maybe it'll be simpler once I get the basics down. (Also, I'm on sick leave due to RSI from work, so I shouldn't be playing much, but that's okay...). MMOs are fun when you have a good group of people to play with. I've really enjoyed FFXIV, but the monthly subscription keeps me from playing often. I've reached the start of Endwalker at least, though it was in December. EDIT: nvm... I just checked the third movement... I think I might learn U.N Owen Was Her next.]

She struggled to understand how someone who couldn’t hear could create such music, but she felt the first part was manageable. Her frustration showed in her pain, yet she kept trying.

I've thought about it too. A Luffy-like determination plus Gear 2? Maybe some kind of awakening? Or (pretends to be skeptical) ALIEN?! It's nice to have something interesting to do besides playing games. Personally, I started getting into a pretty expensive hobby over time. I'm trying to learn machine learning but struggle with Linux and honestly don't have much motivation.

I've also picked up Sculpting in Blender but still struggle to stay motivated. I believe I haven't opened Blender in about three months... even though I nearly finished my first model. At least I enjoyed music otherwise, or else I'd be even more disappointed. I'm not sure why this is the case. I have detailed movie-like ideas for two of the models I want to create and animate, but my mind keeps putting things off. My brain just acts like a procrastinator. Machine learning sounds interesting, but it was too slow on my 1080ti at the time, and I couldn't use my PC for long during training, so I stopped. The results were also not great then. Building or programming isn't something I enjoy. I studied IT and gave up because I hated coding.
