Likely requires an updated bio, though it’s unclear if the newest version meets your needs. Just want to make sure the latest isn’t just a low-quality option. Hope you’re not mixing them together.

After the BIOS update, the motherboard supports the new R5 3600 with DDR4 3733MHz. I’m aiming to install the R5 1600 AF using an ASUS A320M-K, and for future upgrades I plan to swap it in with the R5 3600.

It's extremely challenging, this board performs poorly and VRM temps are dangerously high.

The A320M-K is working well with the R5 1400 processor. It doesn’t need overclocking, but it supports XMP up to 3000mhz. I haven’t attempted 3733mhz yet.

Sure, I'd just like to stick with the standard settings for the R5 1600 AF and 3600 at regular speed. That should give you the best value.

I haven't used my faster sticks in the rig before. That purchase was a bundle of a board, RAM, and CPU for about $350 back in 2017. I assembled a Family HTPC gaming rig around it. It's quite sturdy. I'm hoping you have a Gen 1 chip to upgrade the BIOS. There might not be a newer one available since the motherboard was released long after the chip came out—just a heads-up.

They've lowered the clock speed from 4133MHz to 3733MHz CL18. Have you looked at the prices for those? It's quite a jump, pushing a 3000/3200MHz build to that level. Zen+ components like the AF can't exceed around 3466MHz even with strict timing. High memory speeds also count as overclocking. XMP only promises memory boosts, which might be aided by a cooler fan blowing more. Note that the Wraith Stealth for the 3600 model tends to make noise, but switching to a tower cooler like the Hyper 212 improves airflow to the VRM and can raise temperatures.
