I've been testing with a friend recently. My connection is 200mb with download speeds of 20mb, while his has 50mb with only 10mb available. We often face issues where the game disconnects us. Sometimes he stays in the server we started on, other times it flips. Eventually, one of us might end up alone on a server, making long missions impossible. This keeps happening in GTA, even though we've played for hours without it in Warzone. It's frustrating because GTA Online is one of our favorite games, but these problems ruin the experience. It seems unrelated to Rockstars Shetty servers, but we might need to adjust settings to avoid this.

No? Is your friend in the same country? He might be linking to a European server because of his location, while you're connecting from the US or another region. If I didn't get it right, just let me know and I'll clarify. Edit: also why don't you add your friend to the list and invite him? Also, is he using the same platform?

We're in the same country; I'm also friends with him. But I can't join solo lobby or invite-only groups since we won't be able to complete the new missions. I got the game from the Rockstar official site, he purchased it on Epic Games. Even though we don't live in the USA, the game always puts us in English-speaking lobbies, which I think are based in the USA. Both of us live in northern Mexico, so that must be the reason.
