Consider upgrading your CPU if you want better performance. Your current setup is solid with a B650 board, Ryzen 7 7700X, and 32GB of fast RAM. An X3D chip could help, but it depends on what games you play and how much improvement you need.

Was es zu unzufriedenstellend an der Leistung? Schauen Sie sich die Vergleichswerte an: Source: https://www.techspot.com/review/2915-amd...7-9800x3d/

Yes, an X3D will significantly boost your averages. Adjusting the 7700X with PBO and CO can improve performance and narrow the gap with X3D. The 7700X is a strong CPU; stick with it unless you spot an X3D under $300. For 1440p, your current setup is excellent.

It greatly depends on the resolution you intend to play at. 1440Ultra and 4k will be even on your GPU. The higher you go, the more GPU bottlenecked it gets. Here's how it generally looks with 3080, so you might get 10-15 fps more but idk if it's worth the price:

For 1080p you're likely performing well, but a 3D CPU would boost it by around 15% or more. Would that add value for you? At 1440p and higher, the gains would be smaller unless you're running low-end models. That price tag of $300 after selling your 7700X doesn't seem justified...

Performance remains strong at 1440p, yet I began using 4K on the upstairs TV while watching a dog. I'm aiming for 120fps because of the 120Hz refresh rate, but FSR is still necessary for certain titles. It's worth considering whether upgrading to a new CPU or GPU would be more economical if you want better 4K gaming results.

GPU is definitely the key factor. The 7700x can handle 4k along with other CPUs, but the GPU remains the main constraint. This GPU isn't built for 4k or 120hz performance.
