Hello! You spent four hours on your PC today, with about an hour browsing Reddit. You recently joined a subreddit that seems suspicious and possibly spam-filled. I’m not sure what it is, but you’re worried it might be dangerous. There’s no chance you stumbled in by accident—you haven’t seen this community before.

It’s unlikely you’ve been hacked, but it’s wise to strengthen your security. Enable two-factor authentication on all accounts and install reliable antivirus software.

You're referring to something else entirely. If you weren't expecting that, I don't think the subreddit membership was the goal.

Reddit may invite you to groups you don’t belong in under certain circumstances, such as posting from a community or stumbling upon content in recommended sections. Most subreddits become unreliable when they have fewer than 10,000 members. Remember what @Mad153 advised—keep your internet safe.

I’ve been included on certain pages I previously visited too. It looks like a glitch. As shown on this page:

So... someone tries to trick you into joining a random subreddit? Let's just say the real issue is that if your info was actually stolen, you'd likely never realize it unless you changed your password and lost access entirely.

I use malwarebytes because I don’t see much value in purchasing antivirus software. I’m considering making a password with Dashlane or Keeper. Thanks!

It could be that. I’ve also noticed Spotify logins from an unknown region. Thanks.

Keep it simple: update passwords when unsure and ensure each account has a unique one. Store them safely or use a manager such as RoboForm to protect against breaches.
