Have any suggestions for a new build?
Have any suggestions for a new build?
As mentioned in the title, I’m planning to assemble a new PC and seeking guidance on certain parts.
Some choices are still being considered, like the CPU, power supply, or motherboard.
The build plan is outlined below:
Budget: around £1,500 in the UK.
CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D (this is one of the options I’d like advice on if something better exists).
GPU: Either a 4070 or an AMD 7800X2 (I’m leaning more toward the AMD model because of cost).
RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo EXPO RGB, 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 6000MHz.
Case: NZXT H6 Flow RGB.
CPU cooler: NZXT Kraken 280 RGB (I might opt for a more affordable model at the moment due to budget constraints).
Storage: M.2 drives—500GB WD Blue SSD, plus a larger 2TB drive later, such as a Samsung 970 Evo Plus.
PSU: Again, one of the components I need help with; I’m unsure how to balance power ratings but aim for gold plus.
OS: I’m open to suggestions and just want advice on compatibility and setup.
Please let me know if you can assist with these decisions.
Thanks,
Muddy.
the best approach is to provide us with a budget that aligns with your main objectives, such as gaming or streaming. 4070 is a solid choice for efficiency per watt, though the 4070 super tends to be more expensive. if you're on a tighter budget, the RX 6800 is a good alternative—it's from an earlier generation but still offers plenty of value. in short, i can build a few configurations, but knowing the exact cost will help.

An alternative Intel configuration is available. This choice sacrifices the AM5 upgrade path, but offers a significantly more powerful GPU option.
