I'm having trouble hearing things in my games right now. For instance, in rocket league, I don't hear my own car or the cars behind me. When I play call of duty, some gunshots and other sounds just won't come through. And now when I play spiderman, the characters aren't talking and fighting sounds are very quiet or missing entirely. I put up a video of the spiderman game so you can see what's happening better.

To tell you the truth, this problem happens in that game sometimes, but rarely. The last time I tried, reloading the save file didn't help. It was a glitch where Miles' words wouldn't show up on screen. So try this test again next time if it happens, after all, many people have reported bugs with this game since its release. Also remember: if you're using an older graphics card like an old GTX instead of an RTX, that might be part of the issue too. Nvidia has been pushing out new things fast without giving enough time to fix them, like their 4090 models and those weird adapters. They could also miss important problems with their drivers for older cards.

I tried reloading check points several times, but I'll keep going with that idea... I have a RTX 2080TI and I thought it was just a driver problem, so I went to the Windows driver settings and checked, and everything showed up as updated. Then I checked on the Nvidia website to get an update, which actually fixed the issue for WZ2 but now it seems like the same problem is coming back. I also downloaded WZ2 again on my laptop and everything worked perfectly, and I could hear a big difference right away.

Driver problems can come from bad computer programs, so try running DDU in safe mode to remove old stuff before installing new ones. Regarding laptops versus desktops, I don't think that matters unless your desktop needs a firmware update for the onboard audio or sound card.
