You can transfer the 1TB 2.5-inch drive from your laptop to your new PC, but make sure it matches the drive type and size. Connecting it should work if everything is compatible.

You'd need to mount the drive and reinstall the operating system.

Create an ISO file on a USB stick, power down the computer, restart it while deleting it, then select installing the ISO onto your preferred drive during setup. This will format it during the installation. Note: you may need to search online for this step—it could be incorrect.

You’re referring to the process of installing a new operating system on a 2.5-inch hard drive, which requires reformatting it first.

The hard drive was included with Windows 8 and later versions. You can use the recovery discs to reinstall the system if needed. Simply format the drive and insert it into your PC.

For your situation, you must purchase a Windows license. The one included with your laptop isn’t transferable, though it’s quite affordable and gives you a laptop at a reduced cost.
