Comparing the two options: the 2c/2t 1.6ghz CPU or the 1c/1t 2.0ghz CPU. Your current laptop has a 1.6ghz 1c/1t CPU, and you're considering an upgrade.

AMD's SMT arrived only with Ryzen. You must either have a single-core processor or a dual-core one now. For dual-core models, look for another dual-core chip with a higher frequency, such as the ML-42.

It's K8, right? I forgot S1G1 and was considering G4 (K10). Maybe it's TK-55 if the board supports 35W chips... Not entirely sure.

I’m unable to run 35W, as my laptop is a top model with only 25W. That’s why I wanted to know whether a 2.0GHz single or a 1.6GHz dual would perform better.

It seems you're looking for information about a 1.6GHz dual-core Athlon or TK processor and whether you've tried overclocking it.

It wasn't secured the same way as modern devices. Back then, the BIOS was more open. Try this file: ClockGen_1.0.5.3.zip
