I experimented with the Tech preview on some standard Dells desktops and it worked well. But when installing on my personal build, it extracts properly but then freezes with a black screen at any setup stage. Any advice from the Linus Tech community? I looked up my motherboard help site but didn’t find any 10 drivers. It seems to work fine with ASUS 8.1. I own a Zotac 970 for video. Upgrading or doing a clean install should resolve this. The last build I tried was 10130.

Consider using a fresh installation of the latest release: 10159. Download the ISO files here: http://winaero.com/blog/download-windows...so-images/

It seems the latest ISO version wasn't listed on the site. Thank you for your patience! I'm ready to test it once you're set.

I considered what others might think, just in case. At least I had a reference before this appeared.

I restored my BIOS to the default settings and reviewed it. It took longer than expected to load, so I had to move the drivers disk I prepared to locate the storage this time. I decided to wait and observe what happens. If it doesn’t complete soon, I’ll install a cheap graphics card. I’m planning a reset and reinstall using a Dell/AMD 6350 chipset. It seems normal until the video drivers install—like I saw in a recovery window when setting up new devices, it restarts and then goes black. I sent it to Asus to check if they had Windows 10 drivers available.

It might have been one of the USB gadgets—your Wii U adapter, the CM Storm mouse, or the CODMW2 keyboard—that caused the issue. When you connected a PS2 keyboard and then unplugged everything except Ethernet, it fixed the problem.
